The Afternoon Study Group

The Garden Club of Harrisburg began The Afternoon Educational Group (formerly the Evening Study Group) in 1980 and is open to all of its members and to interested individuals in the community and to all HACGC, Inc., member clubs. We study horticulture, floral design, landscape design, have hands on projects at all meetings. Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judges, Landscape Design Consultants, and members give generously of their time and talent to present programs of interest to the group. We also visit local gardens and nurseries to enhance our knowledge of gardening. At all meetings we bring one or more horticulture specimens. Each specimen is labelded with genius species and/or variety for critiquing. Most meetings are held at the Harrisburg Area Civic Garden Center, Inc., 6049 Blue Bird Avenue, Harrisburg, PA, 17112 (717)-657-3912 on the third Thursday of most months at 1.p.m. For more information or if you plan to attend , call Betty Lewis 717-566-0725
