October 15, 2024,--Jack Geoghan presents" Low Maintenance Landscaping --Good and Bad perennials." Jack is a York County Master Gardener. His main focus is garden design. He has designed numerous gardens in Central PA . He regularly shares his gardening skills and thoughts with Garden Clubs.
November 19, 2024,--Sandy Lockerman presents"Hummingbirds." Sandy is a retired enviromental educator, a federally licensed bird bander, a field ornithologist, and is involved in hummingbird and other Research projects. Her yard is planted for pollinators and hummers. Come learn some interesting facts about ruby throated hummingbirds and hear about research concerning Western PA hummers.
December 17, 2024,- -- Holiday Luncheon "Holiday Designs--The Traditional, the Wild and the Unusual" presented by David Pippin a florist based in Virginia. He is known for his knowledge and creative talents. He also teaches Floral Design, Practical Horticulture and Horticultral Bontany at a community college. March 18, 2025,-- "Creative Container Garden" presented by Lori Metz. Lori is owner, designer and horticulturalist for the Carriage House in Nazareth, PA. She has been helping homeowners and professionals create beautiful landscapes since 1999. She excels in combining plant knowledge with creativity and has guided the creation of many lovely spaces.
April 15, 2025--"Butterflies" Mari Gruber, is the owner of Bear Mountain Butterfly Santuary in Jim Thorpe, PA Maria will discuss raising butterflies, planting for butterflies, meeting their caterpillar and adult needs. Maria is interactive, engsged and downright fun.
Sunday, May 4, 2025--Our Annual Plant Sale will be held in the Carriage House at the Ft Hunter Garden Faire , 5300 N Front St.. Harrisburg, PA, from 10am to 4 pm. We will be selling modestly priced native pollinators and other plants. including columbine red and blue, calendula, bachelor buttons, Maltese cross, silenes, baptisia or false indigo, Mexican sunflower or tithonia, bea baum, and others. Priced low enough to buy several for your yard!
